Hi - I am hoping somebody can shed some light regarding my application:
I have submitted my PR application (inland) + Work Permit + extension of my Visitors visa last October. I am hoping to get at least an approval for my visa extension before my visitor visa is due on February. My question is, IF I do not get any approval by the time my visitors visa is up do I need to reapply for something or do I just wait until an approval is made? Does my status become illegal? I have tried calling the immigartions call center but no one is answering.
1) Bank receipts of what I have paid
2) Postal receipts.
I also know my package has been received as I checked the site of Canada Post and the packaged has been received. Other than these, I have no proof coming directly from immigrations.
I called immigrations and the recording said that all applications mailed after September 4 have not yet been processed. I mailed my extension on October and like what I mentioned, it has been received in immigrations (as per Canada Post) It takes about 100 days to process.
My question is, regardless of the number of processing days, will my status still change to 'implied status' even it is not yet in process BUT has already been received? Do I need to send an application for 'restoration of visa'? My visa expires on February 17 to be exact.

If your application for the extension was/is delivered before you are out of status (visa expires), then you get implied status.
The implied status started as soon as your application was received at CIC (that is why you get proof of delivery).
The implied status lasts until you get a decision or you leave the country.
