Extending visitor visa when from a visa except country

What types of items/documents did you had with you when you crossed the border to show ties to the US?

My rent was really cheap, so I kept my apartment in the US to make crossing the border easier and so I wouldn't have to worry about a storage unit. I always brought my lease with me so I could produce it if they asked. Once I got rid of my apartment and moved all my stuff into a storage unit in June, I made the decision not to cross anymore since I can't really show ties now.

Is it a problem for the CBSA when you have an outland PR in progress and visit Canada every few months and stay a while? I just came back from Canada after staying there for 4 weeks and plan to go back at the end of January to stay for around 2 months this time but im afraid they will take issue with me returning so soon and staying so long. I applied for PR back in May so i should be getting a decision soon anyway, but i don't know.

No, for a visa-exempt visitor it's generally not a problem as long as you can show proof of ties to your home country. The fact that you are visiting/coming and going works in your favor as it helps to show you are just visiting and not living there.

You might be right, im just a bit paranoid because i want to spend time with my family before i get PR approved, and going through the border there is always that chance that they might refuse you entry for whatever reason. Anyway thank you for your answer KBH.

That's understandable, and you are wise to understand that risk. I also always got extremely nervous any time I left and came back.

Okay I should be OK then if I have:
-- Proof of rent and utility payments [I rent from a family member therefore I don't have a lease, just a verbal agreement]
-- Proof of PR application in progress [AOR1, movement to visa office, receipt, etc.]
-- Marriage license

Maybe I should have my family member draw up a lease and backdate just in case they ask to see it? Anything else someone thinks might be helpful to have?
