I was provided with visitor record last year and now my visitor record is soon expiring after a month. I am little confused here whether i should apply for visitor record thus applying to extend my stay or i should go for TRV. And, what additional documents do i need to extend my stay.

You can extend your visitor record, same documents as the first one. I don't see how trv is of any help.
