Hey guys,

What's the best way to extend your stay here in Canada as a visitor? Also, is there a way to get a work or as student permit and switch from a visitor to a worker or a student without leaving Canada. A friend of mine has a visa till 2018 but he was told that even with the visa he has to leave the country every 6 months. So what possible options he can use to become a worker, student or resident?

Who gave your friend that advice? I'm guessing not a CBSA officer....

I guess it is a general understanding that on visitor visa one can stay for 6 months (with out any extensions)
