Extend PGWP

I just applied to PGWP for 3 years ( I applied on March 21, 2023.

I just know that I can get a pgwp according to passport validity. My passport expires December 2024. I plan to get my passport in March 2024. Would it be possible for me to apply for an extend pgwp in March 2024? Do you guys think if I extend too early it will be a problem? Or how many months in advance should I apply before my passport expires?

I was given a 1 yr PGWP because of passport expiration. My passport expiration date was September 2021, same expiration date as mg initial PGWP. I renewed my passport in February 2021, and got the new one in March 2021. I applied for PGWP extension (based on the condition in the document itself that I could file for extension after passport renewal) immediately after I got my new passport. I got my PGWP extended for another 2 yrs, making it 3yrs total, after a month of PGWP extension application.
