I have an open work permit. I started working for my employer in march this year. in the column for is your employer's name on your work permit I put no. because my work permit is open.
Open work permits do not qualify for a valid job offer.

You cannot get the 50/200 points.

How so?

Do you have LMIA? Do you have a close work permit which is employer specific? Do you know what constitutes a valid job offer?

I don't understand. Can you please explain it to me. I live here and have a job. What other documents do I need? And do I then have to go to the job bank? Confused! I thought once you get a full time job you can apply for express entry...no?

I don't understand what the problem is in the first place. Is your application ineligible? Have you met the requirements of either CEC or FSW? If the only problem is that you claimed having a valid job offer then amend your answer.

I put in my application, my score was 502 but then cic sent me a message saying in my application I stated that I don't have a valid job offer that I should register in the job bank. That's what's throwing me off...because the section that asked about a job offer I put yes.

That's because (as I stated above) you do not have a valid offer. Thus, you have to register to job bank which is simply a part of the process.

Ok thanks for clarifying that out for me! do you know what's next after I register in the job bank?
Once your express entry profile is linked to job bank (up to 24 hrs) your application will be open, so you can wait for the next draw to receive an invitation to apply to PR.

Hello,

Can you please help me with few questions.

1. I have applied under Canadian Express Entry class and have 2.5 years of work experience and currently I am on a work permit which expires May 15,2017. I have 453 points and when I check under arranged employment section to check how many points I have received and it shows "0" points. Can you please tell me how can I receive "50" points under arranged employment? Does the work permit needs to be a closed work permit employer specific?

Also, if you can tell me in order to extend my work permit do I still need an LMIA from my employer or just a letter would work from my employer. (Currently, I am on a open work permit and I have been working with the same company past 14 months.

Please guide me what should I do?

Thank You.

Hello Seniors,

Just checked with the local panel physician for medical, and got informed that I can book the appointment slot 2-3 prior. So there is no waiting period thankfully. What concerns me is that there is a chest x-ray component and overall body analysis.

I have been a moderate smoker for years and my current weight kind of falls in the obese BMI range :'( Would that be a problem in my final medical report sent to CIC? I have started a crash diet program and left smoking to come in there good books as much as possible, but I'm not sure if that's gonna be of much help. Please advise

Regards

Just go ahead and do your medical exams. You simply can't skip the medical exams as it is one of the most important part about immigrating.
