Hello Guys,
Need suggestion/opinion from the group.
I took my IELTS and my scores are: Speaking-8, Reading-8, Listening-8.5, and Writing-6.5, which is CLB-10 level in Speaking, reading and listening and CLB-8 level in writing. If I had 7 in writing, it will be in CLB 9 level. And I feel I did not get good score because of my bad hand writing.
My total CRS points right now without my wife's IELTS score and ECA points is 349. Once I get my spouse points, I will have about 369 points considering 8 for education and 12 for language.
My question is: would it be worth taking IELTS again - as I missed out CLB9 level in writing because of 0.5 points and if I get that, I can get 50 additional points in Skill Transferablity factor as I would be CLB-9 or more in all category.
If I do this, I would reach a total point of 426 (+50 for skill adaptability, +7 on language and +20 (approximately) for Spouse Language and education).
Now, based on the trend so far, this 426 CRS points would not be enough for getting ITA as traditionally it has never gone below 450.
What do you guys say?
Thanks

If your IELTS results were issued recently (within the last 2 weeks, I think), you can ask to have them remarked.

There does not seem to be much cost difference between getting it remarked and taking it again. Also, I am not sure about success of getting it remarked. I mean, did anyone try this before and do they really change anything?
Hi all, I have a question reg work experience..
In CIC website it is mentioned full time = 30hrs/weeks ; 1year of employment = 1560hrs
based on this I have the below question.
I started working from 25th May 2015 till date i worked for 73weeks 3days..
a) as per my agreement if i calculate 40hrs/weeks I've worked for 2920hrs
[1560(1year) + 1160hrs].If I work for 200 more hrs, i will complete my 2years experience by
end of Nov.
b) on an avg. every week i have worked for 50hrs, and I have these hours mentioned on my
pay check.
If I count on this basis (50hrs/week) I have already completed 2years of employment.
c) do we need to calculate our experience based on calendar??
(May2015-May2016=1year and May2016-May2017=2nd year)Huh
How should we enter our experience in EE profile?? considering a/b/c??
Please guys.. need your suggestions/help.
Thank you

If you are confident that you wrote well, you must go ahead with re-marking. I have seen it getting increased for few people including me
Looking at the results you have in other sections, there are fair chances of improvement in re-mark. If it increases the your re-mark fees would be returned.

Hi Experts,
Does a secondary applicant need to upload/submit reference letter for work experience?
while filling up the EE profile I had entered 5 years of work experience as a secondary applicant. All of it is a foreign work experience.I don't have any canadian work experience.
Thank you.

When you fill EE, if you put secondary's applicant's employment history then you would be asked for employment proof even though it doesn't fetch you any points.
Better would be don't put it there but at the time of PR application, this can be put in personal history.

being a second applicant I have entered my employment history upfront.I referred to CIC website, I came across this hence wanted to be sure before I get into the hassles of arranging the employment letter from the current employer :
The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:
a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).
If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips and notices of assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe [e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years]).
Individuals who must submit this documentation
The principal applicant
Their spouse or common-law partner (if work experience in Canada is claimed)

No, you will not be required to provide any documentation.
Thanks istari,
Appreciate your help
Was wondering if you could point me to employment reference letter format/CIC requirements if you have info on that.
Cheers and thanks in advance

Thanks alot Stanlee, that is a great thread. However, it doesn't tell if there is a specific format or CEC or FSW employment reference letter. looks like it's the same format for reporting work experience under any program (CEC or FSW regardless). I got that understanding correct?

CIC states the following
a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
- should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
- should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits

Hello everyone,
My score is 475 and I just received my invite yesterday ;D I am already in Canada and working as well( I have not shown my canadian experience as I am not getting any points, it is less than a year right now) . I showed my more than three years of work ex from india and my Masters degree from Canada. So my category is FSW. I am almost about to submit my profile. What I am confused about is why do I see Proof of relationship
required in my documents checklist, I am single and have no dependents, I have one sister who lives in Canada and is a Canadian citizen, I am not getting any points because of her living here, Can anyone suggest if I need to submit this proof or if I can skip it. And I also have Family Member Proof of Status (required) which I can provide but I dont have any proof of relationship.

Thanks Stanlee,
I have composed my letter on these guidelines,
1. Our HR department is contracted out to HR services partner and usually each department has an assigned HR partner who works on the needs of the department so I am getting my letter from the Engineering Manager of my group, would this be okay?
2. I found out that my company does not have a specific email address or fax number. Like each department or manager have their own.
in that case should I put in my manager's fax and email address?
