expiry on SIN and work permit dont match

I had a closed work permit for an employer till Sept 2014 and also the SIN valid till same date. In april 2013, i got laid off. SO i applied for spousal open work permit which i got till Jan 2013 (since that is when my husbands work permit expires). SO now I have the open work permit valid till Jan 2013, but my SIN till Sept 2014.

Can i use my current SIN for my new employer OR do I have to apply for a new SIN?
