To any of you who have had to redo your medical exam because the first one expired, once your visa was issued when did it expire? Was it one year from the date of your new medical? Or was it after only a few months of the issuing date?
I sponsored my husband from Cairo Egypt visa office and his medical exam is about to expire but we haven't heard anything from them yet which is good because he won't be able to travel until September anyways. I know they will require him to redo his medicals for sure so I want to know if his visa will last long enough if they issue it soon after the new medical.

yes the visa will last one year from the date when the valid (new) medical exam was done....if ur husband is not ready to travel yet, then u don't need to hurry and u can let them ask for renewing his medical....like this the visa will be valid more....
by the way make also sure that his passport does not expiry soon....otherwise the validity of the visa will b until the expiry date of the passport or sooner (even if the new medicals r still valid)
i don't talk from my experience just from my own research and reading from other members here; good luck!!
Thank you so much for your reply...it is very reassuring and gives me some piece of mind. His passport is still good for another 4 years but I was just wondering if he renews it now (because he wants to change his status from student to engineer) and sends them his new passport when they ask for it to put the visa stamp, will it be an issue that it's a different passport from the one I sent a copy of initially with the application?
A visa either expires a year after your last medical, or before the date of expiration of your passport, whichever comes first. When you land is up to you, as long as it is before the visa expires, there is no "within 6 months" limit I'm aware of.
