No - he doesn't need to apply for restoration since he applied for his new work permit before his old work permit expired. Note that he cannot start working for the new employer until his new work permit is approved.
it happened to my friend but what her employer did they called Cic and they suggested that he applied her for restoration so she can get implied status and still work , until her new work permit comes, processing time of her work permit took 3 months.
Hi, thank you so much guys...his not working anymore and waiting for his new work permit under new employer.hoping it will be granted.just worry bout the near expiration..thu as you said( scylla) that no need to apply for restoration....

hi every one, my open post gradutaion work permit is getting expire on july 3 2015. i am mpnp nominee and i have applied for PR already but have'nt got file number yet.i have skill level-B job, i understand i need new work permit to maintain my status as worker in canada but i hace certain questions. i hope you guys can help me out
1) do i need to get fill by my employer OFFER OF EMPLOYEMENT TO A FOREIGN NATIONAL EXEMPT FROM A LABOUR MARKET IMPACT ASSESSMENT(LMIA) FORM #IMM 5802?
2) if yes, then which cic address my employer has to send that form to?
3)what will happen once cic will receive that form from my employer?
4) do i have to wait for something kind of confirmation from cic that they have received my form which is sent by my employer?
Direct submission of offer of employment from the employer
Employers must submit their offer of employment using the electronic system that CIC provides for submission and pay the fee electronically prior to the submission of a work permit application based on the offer. There will be three parts to this process for the employer.
Pay the employer compliance fee using the Pay Your Fees page.
Once they have received a receipt number, they must complete the Offer of Employment to a Foreign National Exempt from a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) form [IMM 5802 (PDF, 1.18 MB)].
On completion of the IMM 5802 form, the employer will submit the form electronically by choosing the “Submit” button and following the steps for choosing their preferred email application. This will populate the email with the correct information and attach the offer of employment for direct submission to CIC.
SAME QUESTIONS I ALREADY ASKED MY EMPLOYER TO PAY COMPLIANCE FEE, DO they really need to send to CIC? which address?
