Hello,
My student permit will be expiring with my current passport (the date is coming up pretty soon). I have sent my old passport for renewal but have not received it yet.
What should I do if my student permit expires before I receive my new passport?
Am I legally allowed to stay in Canada, without a new student permit in such a case?
No, you will not be in Canada legally. You will be out of status when your study permit expires and will need to immediately stop studying. If your new passport arrives within 90 days of expiry, you could apply for Restoration. If your new passport takes longer than that, you will have to leave Canada.
