My name is Purwa and I had a question regarding my SIN which got expired last year in Nov 2018.
I have recently applied for my PGWP but my SIN is expired, wanted to ask if I can work on expired SIN or I need to get it renewed to work on implied status?

No you need a valid SIN to work. Hopefully you have not been working without a valid SIN.

You can keep working on the expired SIN. Make sure to renew it as soon as your PGWP is approved.

ok so here's a thing. I'm on an extended study permit that is valid till NOV 2019, for which I had not taken the SIN yet and now since my programme is completed I have applied for work permit hence Im asking if I need to apply for a SIN renewal for this extended study permit that I have or I can continue on my previous SIN that was attached to my 1st study permit?

Incorrect. As long as a person has the legal right to work in Canada, they can continue to work on an expired SIN.

Sin remains the same until you get pr, you should renew it when it expires but you can continue working with an expired sin.
