Expiration date on a TRV

Hi there !

I have a TRV that expire on the 15th of December 2015, and I arrived in Canada on the 7th of October 2015.

+ I have no maximum date stamped on my passport.

I was wondering if i have to leave Canada by the 15th of December, or I am allowed to stay for 6 months (so to leave by April 2016).

I heard somewhere that the visa expiration date does not indicate the date I have to leave, but the maximum date I could enter Canada. But I want to make sure because I don't want to be illegal here.

1. If nothing was written under the entry stamp, then you have 6 months from that date.
