I don't see any reason it will not work. Besides, let me put it this way - what will you do if your bank is not giving the letter you requested for with the account opening date. I am in the same boat with one of my banks - and there is no way to prove the date or write one down - so I will submit 6 monthly statements possible to show the money was already in the account along with a letter of explanation. If you go through the forum, you will find other such cases also.
Hi! So I´m thinking of just translating the first page of each monthly statement, which includes a line with the monthly average". Do you think that`s a good idea? Each of my statements is 12-15 pages long, and unfortunately I can´t afford having 80 pages translated to English from Spanish.

I only submitted the cover pages for the last six months, plus the bank letter and notarized gift deed. I just submitted the application (AOR on Aug 26th), so I am yet to see if it is accepted, but I made research and know of people who did that (without gift deed) and got approved.

I DID! Moving to Canada next week . I spoke to a couple of people that did the same and they got approved as well. It challenges common sense to think they'll want tens/hundreds of pages of transactions, when all the information is on the cover of the statements. Good luck!
