I am trying to submit my visitor visa online application on my CIC website and I am getting error every-time I try to upload the IMM5257 form. The form is in Adobe version 1.7 ( acrobat 8.x), it is validated and has all bar codes as well.
Validation error: You have not completed the mandatory fields or you have not completed them correctly. Please make corrections where indicated.
Error Description: We are unable to validate your document at this time, please retry later.
I read in few other forums that it can be due to server issues, is someone else experiencing or has dealt with this issue? As its been two days that I am not able to upload the application and its causing unnecessary delay!
I have tried both Mac and Windows machine and Chrome, IE and safari browser in both of them. It still throws me the same error.
I contacted their technical support as will, but its highly likely they will not respond to this.
Do I need to print the document, sign and scan it back? I did not do it as it says its not required in the online application, but i am wondering if thats it.
It finally worked for me by following suggestions from here -
this worked for me (taken a previous post on this issue):
1. downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader (XI)
2. copied the link of the .pdf document and pasted it to the Open/file/ box.
3. the file will be opened with a notification on top indicating the document as certified by CIC to be a secure document. you can now fill up this document. make sure you save a copy.
Earlier I filled it through Adobe on my IE, and it was validated as well, but this finally worked for me.
