I am wondering in anyone can help me with this question.
I have been invited to apply for permanent residency through the Canadian Experience Class stream. I am looking to submit my application in early October 2017.
While my residency application is being processed (which I assume will take around 3 months) my employer has supplied me with an LMIA visa.
My question being, can I enter Canada on a valid work permit as I wait for the permanent residency application to be processed or will I run into problems at immigration etc.
Depends on the kind of LMIA your employer has obtained. Did your employer obtain a dual purpose LMIA that you can use both for PR and for a work permit?
No, this is just a LMIA for a specific job with no relationship to the permanent residence application.
My PR application is not been submitted yet and the LMIA from the employer is also in process.
Essentially I am applying for PR on my own, However I have been granted an LMIA by an employer (who has granted me one in the past also). This LMIA is for seasonal work and therefore is not valid towards a PR application
