employment reference letter questions

Hi everyone


just a quick questions. does CIC require a date on the employer reference letter ? I just started this job 2 weeks ago and i have talked to my boss and he is willing to sign a employment reference letter now. He told me that i can write the letter and give him to review and approve. I am just wondering do you guys put the date on your employment reference letter,? becuase i wil have to wait till next April to apply my PR. Should i get it now or after one year later once I start my application ??

Get it once you start the application. You don't need the employment reference later until you get invitation to apply for the PR.

Thank you. And the the boss did not give me an job offer to sign. He just called me and told me i was hired and started to work .I got the pay stub biweekly. Does it matter if he did not give me a job offer ?

That's for own personal reason. As earlier mentioned, CIC doesn't need your offer letter. You only have to provide a reference letter after one year of work and when ready to apply for PR.
