Hi all, I don't have call logs to support continued communication but I have lots of emails and chat logs. Just wondering, if I can get some advice on what to include and how much to include? Can I just extract relevant chat logs or do I have to show logs for continuous days or weeks to show that we did communicate everyday?
Thanks in advance

You can take a sample of it. Maybe one or two a month and then make note that there are a lot more available if they wish to see it.
Are the chat logs from Skype or something similar? Do print screen of the chat log activity so they can see all the chats listed as well as the duration.

I actually have just about every Skype/Ym/FB log from when my wife and I started to communicate, however through recommendations on this site I did not include every log file as it would have been close to 2000+pages my original intention was to send all but instead I just printed out 5 days out of every month from when we started, I made sure some of it included talks about our future and at the time talks about our up coming marriage preparations . I also included when we talked about our plans for trips for me to go see her.
In my own personal declaration I let CIC know that All log files are available at their request if they desire to see them.
Hope that gives you some idea.

It's whatsapp logs. I'm currently extracting one or two days of chat logs per month. That's still a lot of logs over 2 years. Lol
Thanks!

Hm... Yea, maybe I'll do a mostly one day per month and a couple that spans 5/6 days per month. I am also taking snapshots of list of emails so that they can see the dates, and I'm thinking of including a few emails details. Thanks for the tips.
I am not sure if screen prints / screen shots are necessary to prove authenticity.
What I did for emails and chats is you can open the email and click print and then change destination to "Save as pdf". this is a very neat option for most pages where you can "Print". This is easier than taking screen prints by scrolling down if its a lengthy email.
I took screenshots ( Print screen ) for Skype.
i did not send any logs of anything, only referenced it in my answers. i did create facebook "highlights" for each year of our relationship. that is the extent of proof of our online communication i sent.
obviously it's dependant on the visa office, though it's been noted if you send in too much, they take a sampling of it and destroy the rest. the way i see it, it's better to make their job easier by only providing what is absolutely necessary to prove the relationship as ongoing. i highly doubt a visa officer will be happy to receive an envelope with 100s of pages of private messages between a couple. if you must send something, just sent a small amount to show the longevity of your relationship.
What I did was took a copy of important skype logs ( one with call durations and dates) around 4 to 5 pages, ( just to show continuity), I had thousands of whatsapp chats, so made a word doc of around 20 to 30 pages, and showed 4 to 5 days of every month.!! also we had a relation of 5 years, so showed some screenshots of e-cards sent during that time on birthdays etc. also had old chat logs so attached a page or two of that too. but organized them and attached labels explaining when was the log recorded. My lawyer asked me to do it like this.

I did the screenshots just to show a list of the emails. I used the 'print' function for the individual emails that I selected to be added to the application.

hm.. true. It's india though, so they probably need more documents for support. I'll try to cut down as much as possible.

I don't have call logs, that's our biggest problem. We communicated via chats due to work and time differences. So, if I take 4-5 days per month, I'll still have over 100 pages! Labels are a good idea, I'll do that too.
Thanks guys.
