I have studied Master of Engineering in Canada from Sep. 2009 to Dec. 2010. Completed the degree program in 4 semester. After graduation I got Post Graduation work permit for 3 years. I got a job on Feb 2011 (within 3 months of graduation). Now I have 1 years of Canadian job experience.
My question is: Do I am eligible for CEC ?
Confusion because the MEng program can be completed in 1 yr but I took 1.5 yr.
No where it is mention that MEng is 1 yr program.
There is greater chances of rejection if u studied less than 2yrs. Some people get rejected with same. U might work for another one year to qualify. wait for seniors to suggest for u
The right of PR fee you can get back if you don't become a PR but the processing fee you don't get back if they spend the time processing your application.
I think it is unlikely that you will be accepted under CEC. You need a 2 year course and your course was a one year course (can be completed in one year) although you spent 1.5 years taking it (not even 2). Just work for another year and then apply under the worker stream.
On University webpage is mentioned as follows:
Faculty of Engineering
Master of Engineering (MEng) Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Computer Engineering Field^, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Materials
1. General
The Master of Engineering (MEng) degree offered at the University of Windsor is a course work professional program open to students who satisfy the admission requirements. The MEng Program takes three to five semesters to complete but is structured in such a way that it may be completed in one year by a full-time student. The minimum period of full-time registration for the MEng degree is three semesters and the maximum allowable time is five semesters.
I took 4 semester to complete. Do you still think there is strong possibility for refusal ?
Please comment.
Normally, 4 semesters could be considered a 2 year course unless the university has more than 2 semesters per year. It is not really advertised as a 2 year course. I think it could go either way. You can try. If they refuse, you can always apply again after you work for another year.
