As a Houstonian, please be prepared for numerous challenges, the first and foremost being the weather conditions. The snow season has just started and right now we are experiencing -6 degree celsius. Cost of living is about 20-25% higher than Houston across the board. Gas right now is $ 1.05 a litre and multiply this by 3.8 to get price per gallon. 2% milk is $ 4.65 a gallon compared to $ 3.45 in Houston. An Indian buffet I could get at $ 9.99 or less in Houston, Here it is about 12.99. 2 bedroom 2 bath rent is about $ 1,300 a month which includes heat and water. These are just a few examples.
I am still put in the hotel as my luggage from Houston is proabably arriving today. I don't know much about SAP jobs as I am in accounting and finance and my Houston company relocated me to Edmonton.
If anyone has any specific questions, please PM me and I will be glad to try and help out.
Thanks a lot for your detsiled reply however if you can give us more details about the cost of othere things like food, transpprtation etc, it will be great
Welcome to Edmonton, Alberta.
I relocated from Houston Texas to Edmonton just a week ago. Please let me know if I could be of any help. I am of Indian origin.
We are really happy that you are already there and would be helpful for us to get first hand information about this city.
Please keep us informed if any one arises any common question, PLEASE POST THE QUESTION ON THIS FORUM SO THAT ALL WOULD-BE EDMONTAINANS WILL get the benefits and information rather than PM messaging.
