Have to agree with @Bishops2020 here. On the second page of LOI (right on the very top), there is a text specifically for the border officer to scan in order to print study permit and it has the validity date (which is the sp expiry date)

Doubt so, why do they need TRV dates if you have a counterfoil right in your passport? I requested GCMS notes and these dates are identical to the actual SP dates (not counterfoil - TRV, those are two different documents)

Not yet, my journey will be on Nov 16th. So we are double checking docs, hopefully nothing is gonna change before our date and it would be not super nerve wracking at the Canadian border but I’ll post my story on the thread

I haven't, but when you were approved the dates for your Study Permit are stored inside of GCMS notes, as well as conditions of it. If you don't believe it that's alright, but this is what I am referring to:
For officer use
TYPE: Permit - SP / Permis - PE
Document number: #000000000
Validity (YYYY/MM/DD): date
Must enter Canada by (YYYY/MM/DD): date
If they would create SP just for you, then imagine how long would they need to prepare it. Your SP is stored in the system and all an officer does it decide whether you are who you actually are and you are doing in Canada what you said you would

Thanks for the details. I'm not sure that is entirely accurate even though what you're saying does make sense. However, the way it's worded on the IRCC website makes you think the CBSA officer has quite a bit of say in the validity. @jigzyy can you give us your thoughts?
