Im flying to Vancouver in March for the first time to work and live. I have my letter saying my work visa was successful and to show it at the airport when i arrive.
My Question is.........I renewed my Australian passport last month without thinking of the implications it would have on my canadian work visa. I thought the passport number would be the same!
I have thrown my old passport in the bin which i really should have kept so.....will i still be able to get into Canada and get my work visa?? All i have now is my new passport and my letter. Surely they dont expect me to apply again just because my passport was renewed.
Im really stressing and havent found anyone i can call or email about this question. Can someone please help who has been in this situation before?? All my other information on the new passport is the same as my old one so i personally dont think it will be a huge deal.
Im flying to Vancouver to work in 3 weeks. However recently renewed my passport last month without thinking of the implications it would cause my work visa. I thought the passport number would be the same!

Also, i dont seem to be able to log into the CIC website and the Kompass one. They dont recognise me email anymore? Once they accept your visa request do they delete your account??
Strange that you dumped your Old Passport in the Bin.However old or Expired a Passport is,if a Visa on it is still valid, the Passport is still relevant and is supposed to be used with the New Passport
it kinda got thrown away as when you renew them at the post office they cut it up so it cant be used. so i figured might as well throw it out.
I found a jpeg copy of my old passport. ill just bring that with me when i fly over. i of course havent of got the visa yet. i just have the approval letter. they issue the visa at the airport im guessing.
