hi mmiq
CAIPS is short for 'Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System'. It is the computer system used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process visa applications, and holds all the information on the current status of every immigration application being processed by overseas offices (i.e. those outside of Canada).

hi Shanks
in 60-70% cases CHC will ask again PCC either with meds or just b4 Passport request. its quite normal buddy, so send at the earliest so thy will issue PPR soon.

hi mmiq
the same info i have posted in Page 102 in the same forum (Dubai forum). but for your ref here it is-
How to order your immigration file notes CAIPS
If you are overseas, someone else (a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or someone physically present in Canada) will have to obtain them for you under the Access to Information Act. This can be a relative, friend or sponsor, or a commercial service. For this there is a $5 fee (more if you use a commercial service), and you will have to provide consent. Forms for this are available on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.
Forms
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/release-info.asp
Companies providing CAIPS ordering services
If you are outside Canada and do not have a friend or relative inside Canada who can order your CAIPS notes for you, you may consider using one of these commercial services. Please note, if you are in Canada and can order your notes yourself, or have a friend or relative who can do it for you, that will cost only $5. All of these commercial services cost more.

Hi Shanks,
If your emirate is Dubai, nothing to worry. They are not insisting on National ID.
I have applied for PCC on 30th Nov-10 at Ghusais Head Quarter. Expected to receive in 1 or 2 day.
Regards
Cool
Hi Cool My emirate is sharjah. At the time of my earlier PCC they had insisted.Dont know this time if an expired one (for dependent) will do. By the way I have a valid one Rgds Shanks
