I was really happy when I saw this thread. Thanks to all.
My issue is that I sent my medical test forms on 10/09/2009 .They were delivered to London after one day 11/09/2009. After nearly one month exactly on 25/10/2009, I received a letter of visa notification from the high commission saying that I should submit my passports and photos for all my family members to the high commission in London . I waited for the passports for more than 2 months, which is unusual I think, then I sent an email to them to inquire about the passports. They sent me back this email.
“ This is to advise that further background checks are required before we can proceed with visa issuance. Please confirm if you would like us to retain your passports while these checks are being conducted, or if you would like them returned to you to be requested at a later date.”
Actually, I was really confused. Now it’s been three months since I sent my passports. I sent them an e-mail saying that I’d like to have my passports back. They sent me the passports without the visa. Is this normal? Should I be worried about this? Please help.
It is not normal, but not 'unusual' too. Many have got delays after sending their pps & many also have got it back unstamped [upon their own request].
Now, why that happenned? It's because exactly what the CHC replied to u. In many cases the CHC needs to see the 'actual' pps to ascertain certain issues reg one's background scrutiny -aka SECCRIM & SDEC.
This happens in certain cases. So, relax, nothing to worry. Once your both DECs r thru, CHC'll ask u again for your pps for 'visa stamping' this time.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. Yours words have really comforted me. I've been living the anxiety since last October. I hope to get the visa with the few coming months.
I am from Sharjah and very pleased to see such a forum for UAE residents. i have a question about sponsoring my Kids, i am a canadian citizen living in UAE for the past 5 years along with my family. my wife is PRC holder but childerns are not.
can someone please let me know if I can file for my sponsorship apps for my kids from here and if i should use 2 applicantions each for one kid eventhough both of them are minors. I have not seen any application to sponsor minor kids.
