I read that to get a Canadian driving licence faster (go through less exams) a written confirmation in the form of a letter on the licence issuing authority's letterhead (Moroor) confirming that a licence was issued on ---- a date allowing operation of ---- type of vehicle. Any idea how I can get this letter? My driving licence is from Dubai Moroor and I have been driving for over 11 years.
Any ideas?
Here is where it explains the Ontario licence requirements: http://www.settlement.org/sys/faqs_detail.asp?faq_id=4001360
K2 - I just got it done from Mumbai, much faster and easier to get the notary.
I had been to Indian Embassy in Dubai and notary is a long processing requires various attestations from different ministries (some ministries back in india) depending upon your degrees and certificates.
so a wise way is to get the notary done from India...
I thought so. I have done some attestation from Mumbai district court premises some time back & it was a piece of cake. Since i do not have any immediate plans to visit Mumbai, i thought to check out options in Dubai. By the way, my agent quoted me AED15/- per attestation in Dubai.
I have applied through Premiers in Dubai. I am not very satisfied with the services but its the best i came across in Dubai. And 15dh per copy will add up to big amount because i have big list of documents for myself & my wife.
There you, I have the similar situation, I had a very long list of document which needed notary...
I would suggest, send two sets of photocopies and originals to your close friend or relative back in Mumbai and same day for few hundred rupees your job will be done
I'm glad there's a platform where we can all share our thoughts, experiences and queries on this "hot" topic
my husband being the primary applicant, we submitted our docs in nov 2008 thru an immigration lawyer from dubai.
we submitted our medicals on 28th feb. does anyone know how long we have to wait for our passport call?
K2 - I have got experience letters from all my previous employers on their letters heads, I have made photocopies of them and notarised them.
Further, my current employer I have got a reference letter which runs in multiple pages stating my tenure of service, title, salary information, job descriptions and of course few good words of recommendations.
first of all, congratulations. It seems your visa is stamped. And pretty interesting that you did not do any attestation. I though it is mandatory to get all the docs attested before submitting them to the visa office. Isnt it?
I did not do any attestation.Just submitted the photocopies of my credentials as well as service certificates.I do not know if they hv changed something in between. What i remember is just getting my visa translated into english.
Yes i got my passports with the visa yesterday.Thank you for your wishes.
The residence visa page on your passport, nowadays has english translation also. But in my case it was in Arabic only, hence it was necessary to translate into English, mainly to know the profession you are in.
You can get this done from one of the many typing centres who have a qualified translator.
