Hey
Anyone residing in the UAE who has Jan 2019 AoR and has already rcvd PPR?
Would really appreciate if you can share your journey so far.

I am Jan 23rd AoR / MEP 1st March / rcvd BIO request on 1st March and submitted on 3rd March.
Current BG status shows 'we are processing your background check'. So I guess I am in IP2 stage.

Hello,

Anyone tried to open an International account with hsbc?

A guy called me from hsbc, seemed like he was calling from india and not uae. He said he will take my details over the phone to fill out the international account form and then send it to me by email to verify and submit along with the required documents to hsbc international banking branch.

Is that the correct procedure?

Called CIC the lady told me..
Eligibility has passed info sharing completed criminality passed and ADR was requested because they are working on background check.

Any idea how long it could take ?

I believe this is per of security screening (SS) process (because of military work background) usually SS lasts between 6-12 months from the time your eligibility is passed. It’s a time consuming but mere formality. I would suggest you to have patience

Yes I know, what I meant since your country has mandatory military service and an individual has exemption this may be reviewed as well...

So how do I know if my file is under security screening.

The only conclusive way to know is through CBSA notes
CBSA notes are just like GCMS notes but the security details are not redacted
CBSA notes do provide the start date of SS

Background check takes time 2-12 weeks.
The way to know more about what is going on in background check you can order CBSA and CSIS notes
