1. Hotel/mote addresses r not acceptable.
2. Try & pre-book a 'short-stay accom'.
3. U can apply for the PR cards later -- once u have an address... it's just a matter of faxing the forms. U'd receive the fax No. from the BSO.

Thanks Qorax, i heard that i can get/rent P.O box number ..is it ok to give them just P.O Box so that they can send the PR cards ? or they need an address of residency?

No. PO Box isn't accepted... u require to state a 'street address'.
BTW, the UPS PO Box has a street address for similar purposes.

I have recently recvd PR, as per initial application for FSW my intention to live was BC and so the documents recvd also says BC
but fortunately have a job offer in Nova Scotia so now planing to go there

1 Can i land in halifax ?

2 Can i go through toronto stay there for few days and then go to halifax ?

3 Can i give friends adderess in halifax where i plan to stay initially ?

I have 2 children when they get child tax benefit.

In Calgary when i am going to receive Health insurance after 3 months or after my arrival.

Hi,

You can drive on Pakistan License for 90 days

http://www.transportation.alberta.ca/1931.htm#International%20licence

Also you have to get the attestation from Pakistan embassy in vancouver. I would suggest thatyou got it attested from Pakistan and give it to vancouver. This is needed for GDL exemtption otherwise you have to wait for 1 year after learners.


You can apply for child benefit when u land. There are forms which needs to be filled.

You will get health insurance on ur arrival. you have to apply for it in a registry.

I think you need both your Pakistan License and IDP in order to drive in Alberta for 90 days.

My situation is little different and I know that only you can help me out.

I wrote Vancouver in my application. I am going to live in Victoria. But since I have friends in Toronto, I am planning to Land there first (POE). So my question is, can I give my friend's address in Toronto for PR card at POE, even though I am not going to be live there? I think it would be safe to give their address, as I am planning to travel around Canada. And later come back and pick up from their place in Toronto.

After PR card, can I leave Canada for atleast 6 months? What other documents do I need to return besides PR card? And do I need to have a permanent address to return back after 6 months?

Need you guidance.
