No, the document number on COPR is not the same as the PR card number.
However, the "Client ID" printed on your COPR will also be printed on your PR card

Hey guys,
My husband and I just landed on jan 18th. I just have a quick question about our PR cards..do we have to send the application, update our address or was all done at the border and we just have to wait for PR cards to come by mail...we were inside Canada applicants and did our landing at Caraway Border..I'm asking this question coz when we did our landing, the officer took all the work permits, etc and after 20-25 mins told us that we are Canadian PR and that our PR card should come in mail in 10-12 weeks..any help will be helpful.

since he mentioned that you PR card will come in-mail in 10-12 weeks, then thats clear enough....you'll just have to wait for your card to arrive.
I guess the officer has filled you COPR form and wrote your current address on it right?
I think so...but he just asked us to sign at our two copies of CPRs..

It means you've done your landing, your cards are under processing...just wait patiently
