I heard people get their PR cards super late coz their photos didn't meet the specification? Is there a way to make sure that the photos we provided is accurate and that it won't delay our PR card processing?

Yes, going from Canada to India is not a problem. And you can ask your friend to post it through a reliable courier like FEDEX/DHL. I Know my friend who went to India and his friends shipped his card back home. Just carry the copy of COPR along just in case Indian immigration people ask for .
But I am sure you will get it before you fly from here !!!

You can call CIC atleast after 1 month when you landed and they can tell you checking their records if you need to send your pictures again. That's what I did and they said everything is fine so far.

It was quick for you. I am still counting the days and eagerly waiting for mine. I hope I receive it before I flyout of Canada this weekend.
Finally i got my PR card today after exactly 76 days of landing. ;D
Landed 20July, 2013 application type AINP. PR card 3Oct, 2013
And the best thing is I have my flight booked for today night and I was planning to apply for PRTD backhome....I already filled all docs reqd for PRTD appliaction and just now I put all of them in shredder. lol.. 8)
