Getting married in Nov. 2015 and I want to prepare ahead of time. What are some of the important things that I should keep in mind?
In addition, I want to point out that my fiancée has had a visitor visa refusal in Apr. 2015 and student visa refusal in Aug. 2015. Would that negatively impact the spousal PR application?
Yes they both will impact negatively, but they're not really anything serious. Both were recent refusals, and show an attempt and desire to enter Canada.
However, if your PR application is relatively strong, it won't be a big deal at all.
Refusals of a visa (from any country) affect the PR application. The more refusals, the worse it looks. But only two is not so bad. Just make sure you have lots of evidence your relationship is genuine and it should be fine. If there is an interview, the visa officer will ask about the refusals, so the applicant should be prepared to talk about them.
