i’d like to preface this by apologizing if this has been asked before. I searched for the topic and couldn’t find any.

So for the topic, i don’t really know what a master’s degree definition is. Does the program have to be a 2 year program? I’m interested in applying to a US accounting master’s degree at Iowa State University, my almamater. However, it is a 1 year program as opposed to the traditional 2, and I just want to make sure that this counts as a master’s degree for Canadian express entry purposes before I delve deeper. Here’s the link to the program description: https://www.ivybusiness.iastate.edu/masters/macc/ .

Alternatively, is there a 1 year master’s program in Canada in finance or accounting that would count as a master’s degree? If any of you could offer guidance, I would be very grateful. Thank you so much and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

1 year masters is the minimum length of all the masters programs that require u to finish course work and a project. For thesis based work it usually takes 1.5 -2 years to finish

I see. So in other words, i should be good to go with the aforementioned 1 year program? I don’t think it’s a thesis based one. Thank you so much!

Yes but in order to get the work permit for 3 years after graduation and 5 points under adaptability for FSW I need to finish it in 2 academic year while remaining full time in each semester with exception of the last semester
