If I received a "scholarship" from an university for peforming a research directly related my thesis topic, does this research activity count as work experience (this "scholarship" was offered as a research funding or research grant. I have received T4A tax form)?

Here is description of my scholarship from my university website:
" Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarships are for research directly related to the student's research. No teaching or service duties are required of graduate students who hold an FGSS. Only students in thesis-based programs are eligible. FGSS awards are tenable only for those in full-time attendance at the University of Calgary, although provision may be made for off-campus tenure where this is essential to the student's research.

The stipend is determined and awarded by the department or program and is funded by the Faculty of Graduate Studies."

I believe it doesnt count as work experience since it should be a paid work experience.

But isn't this scholarship like university paying me for conducting a research related to my thesis topic?

If you get a letter from your department with your job duties, stipend, and number of hours working a week, i think it will be ok. The NOC code is 4122.

Just my 2 cents
