My mom came to Canada on a regular (multi-entry) TRV instead of a Super Visa because I am not eligible at that time when she applied simply because I stopped working for a few months when I left the country to visit her.
I am also sponsoring her and it was already on step 2 processing.
My question was "if I help her apply for extension until February next year, will CIC question me why I did not apply for the Super Visa? Will it affect my sponsorship application?"
I have also got my mothers visa extended x3 consecutive times, one of my acquaintance was told they can ask 1 year visa ext too ( by immigration officer )
My folks are also here, and I am also in Step 2 - so will ride the same boat as above but only conundrum is of sending passport for stamping
I just have one more question.....I am quite confuse as to how long can my mom stay in Canada when her visa expiry was 01/01/2015. Her passport was not stamped at the border as to when should she leave the country. As per my understanding, with or without stamp, the maximum stay can only be 6 months. Please correct me if I am wrong =)
Yes, 6 months, then extend > extend > try another, goto US and come back ( immigration officer will let her in probably with +- 6 months ), they are easy on folks
