A friend of mine applied for a visitor visa online to visit canada for a meeting. He applied on April 9th, the date thar the IRCC announced the pause on immigration. Any one knows when the visa applications will process again and if the embassy still reviewing visa applications or not. He didnt get any email from IRCC on his account except his of confirmation of submitting online application. Thanks.
Nobody knows when visit visa applications will start to be processed at the same rate as before. Most applications are taking a lot longer. Also note that attending a meeting would not currently be considered essential travel so even if a visa were approved travel would not be allowed, that together with current requirement for 14 day quarantine.
