Hello guys, just wondering if anyone can help me out with answering these questions. Me and my partner are in the process of preparing for our PR applicaiton in Aussie region.
1. What kind of services in Australia are recognized by the Canadian government for the statutory declaration of ongoing relationships? (Can we use Justice of Peace?)
2. Do all photocopied documents need to be certified (notarized) such as passport copies, citizenship certificate copies, photocopies of birthday cards etc. ( Or only translated copies of documents)
1. It must be a notary public. I think there are several walk in services for notaries in Melb, I'm sure other cities would have similar. Try http://www.notarylocator.com.au/
2. The only documents that need certifying are translations.
What format did you use for your statutory declaration? Or did you download a editable format? Also, do you know if both myself and my declarant have to be present when this is signed? or can I just have my declarant go there and get it signed and witnessed by a solicitor.
I downloaded an editable form from the justice page of state gov of Vic website. Other states have the same, just google for your state. This is the link to the Victorian one:
