After I applied for PR with my old passport (the current passport at that time), I renewed my passport and sent a copy to CIC a month ago. Last week I received 'Ready for Visa' email.
My question is "Whether I need to send my old passport also along with new passport' for visa and COFR?". Appreciate your response.

In your case, yes you have to send old as well as new passport.
Thanks HarrySingh.
I received MR on Jul 11 and RPRF on Jul 14. I did my medicals on Jul 21 (but doctor electronically uploaded on Jul 24) and paid fee on Jul 20. I sent my renewed passport copy to CIC on the same day, i.e.., July 20 (both mail and email). I received PPR on Aug 7. As per the instructions I have sent valid passport i.e., new passport only (as I informed the change on July 20) as per the instructions on Aug 13. When I asked CIC customer care service in July on when should I send my new passport, the agent informed me that I should send the new one when CIC asks for it.
Please advise do I need to send my old passport as well?

Hitchman is correct. I spoke with customer care a while ago and they confirmed that just sending new passport is enough. No need to send invalid/expired passports to CIC.
