Hi Guys,
I am planning to apply under skilled worker category. For now I ll be applying just for me. When submitting the documents do I need to send the marriage certificate also ? I am currently at US. I have not yet taken the marriage certificate. My family is at India. I heared it is better to apply from US rather than from India. Is marriage certificate mandatory in my case ?
Thanks for the response. For getting marriage certificate they are expecting me to be there in india. I will probably apply after getting back to India.
that means you MUST apply for your spouse and any dependent children and they will have to be examined by way of medicals and police checks, you CANNOT apply on your own as FSW

Is this true? Under federal skilled I must apply for alll the family? Because I plan to apply for myself first, but of course I will state and include my wife and children on the application details only. So that I will pay only CAD$550.
like I said, you must include all family members in your application, spouse and children, and pay the fees for them all too, and CIC will carry out the process of examining their eligibility for PR status in Canada even if you say they are not going with you
yep, got that wrong, sorry, I just reread the guidelines, which is important for everyone to do instead of relying on guys like me
you MUST include details of all your family members, whether accompanying you or not, and they will all have to be checked re medicals and police certificates (here there may be some exceptions due to divorce and custody issues)
no need to pay fees for non accompanying family members

My answer is no to most of those questions. But in my son's birth certificate both my name and my wife's name are there. Our marriage was done in the eyes of religion. But the problem is we have not yet registered it.
But anyway I have decided to apply later after I move back to India.
