Hello! I am planning to travel to Montreal in late November. I was convicted of a DWI for the first (and last I swear) time this past August. Do I need a TRP to get into Canada? I never heard of this until about 1 hour ago. If I do, should i apply in advance or at the border? I have no other criminal record at all and I have no intention of driving to, or within Canada. I'm travelling with my boyfriend who is a U.S. Marine Vet.
Thank you!

Hi
You are criminally inadmissible to Canada. Given how extremely recent your conviction is, I doubt there is any chance of you being granted a TRP. The officer can't really make an accurate judgement on whether you "learned your lesson" and are no longer a risk when only a month has passed
With the likelihood of refusal, I suggest you apply in advance instead of at the border.
