Do I need a visitor visa, whilst waiting for OWP and PR if I have an ETA?

Hi there,

Just wondering if I still need to apply to extend my visitor visa 30 days before expiration of current visa in order to stay in Canada while waiting for OWP and PR. I am a British Citizen and hold an ETA valid until 2022.

Do holders of an ETA still need to apply for a visitor visa whilst waiting for acceptance? I can't find an answer under these exact circumstances anywhere online.

It depends. When did you enter Canada last? Were you given the default 6 month visit? When did IRCC receive your PR/OWP application?

I last entered Canada on 10th Jan 2018, but I am on an IEC working holiday visa, so my ETA wasn't necessarily looked at as I was and are currently living on my IEC. IRCC haven't yet received my application

In that case your ETA is irrelevant and doesn't help you. When does your IEC expire? And when did IRCC receive your PR application?
