hello everyone, here is my complicate case,
i am holding post-secondary work permit vaid till somewhere 2012, I just finished my 1 year term job, I am unemployed now and would like go on Employment Insurance (EI).
I am also planing to apply study permit to go back to school on Jan 2011, can I receive EI while i will be in school? i will be holding student visa on that time.
also if i apply EI, does it affect my future application for PR next year? (most concern)
Thanks,
As far as I am aware, you are not able to claim EI.
So your question is redundant really.
If he worked and paid into the EI system, then he's eligible to apply for it. No, EI won't affect your PR process but not working might depending on under which class and category your are applying. Keep in mind that in many circumstances the economic classes require significant settlement funds or that the applicant is working. So make sure you know the requirements of your category very well.

The OP can't collect EI while attending school.
