i am married in the philippines and my annulment here took 3 years but denied. i have a filipino bf but he is already a canadian citizen. we are planning to have a temporary resident visa so that we can file for a divorce in canada with my ex husband. is that even possible?
You need to be a resident of Canada for a year before you can apply for a divorce here. Don’t think a TRV counts for residence status.
You could, with extensions, live together for a year and then apply for spousal sponsorship under common law. You can get the divorce later if you decide to get married.

The Canadian TRV in your passport last as long until your passport expires. Canada TRV in passport has an expiry date as your passport. However you can only enter Canada and stay as a visitor for 6 months max. Only the border agent can determine how long you can stay. They either give you a visitor record or no stamp. If there is no stamp in your passport or have no visitor record upon entry to Canada, you can legally stay up to 6 month max. Unless you apply for an extension stay while in Canada.
