Hi Everyone,
I’m citizen and I applied my dependent child (16 years old) sponsorship application Jan 24 and they 3 times rejected related form signatures.(I live in Usa and he lives Turkey) And I signed behalf of him 22 March 2024. I received 10 April 2024 application number. Today 24 May 2024 my son got email for biometric need. We take biometric appointment to Monday.
Our problem my son senior student in high school now and he should start college in September. Do you have any idea how many days taking all process?

It's the free services offered by the Canada government. I think next to this is the passport request.

My child sponsor application was returned. No further explanation of reason. All of the forms are showing Complete status. Not sure what is the reason for returning file. any ideas???

My child sponsorship application was also returned before i resubmitted. In my case there were 2 issues.
1. I signed using my child's name. For a child the parent has to sign the document under their name
2. They asked me for physical signatures on the primary application form IMM 1344

Check if any of these conditions applies to you. And resubmit. Also to be on the safer side, you can submit both digitally signed as well as physically signed and scanned copy of IMM 1344.

Buddy i applied online. for first point are you talking about consent which is signed at the end? Because i put name of my son on that rather than mine. Pls help clarify this point. I am trying to call but not getting through as no UCI/Application number and no reply to webform

Hi. Even I applied online. I received an email citing these two reasons for application return.
In your case it looks like the reason for return was that in the consent at the end you signed using your child's name. You need to sign in under your name since the child is a dependent below 18 years old.

Also, did you upload the application form IMM 1344? If you did, I strongly recommend to please upload both electronically signed copy and also a physically signed and scanned copy in additional documents just to make sure the application isnt returned again. It happened with me and it has happened in a lot of other cases as well.

Yes, you need to sign both as a sponsor and as the principal applicant

Yes, it happens with me as well,

So make sure that you sign on - Sponsor's Signature

as well as if your kid is <18 than you need to sign on - Signatured of sponsored Person (principal applicant)
