Hello,

I have a question regarding the inclusion of a dependent child in a family class sponsorship app.

If I am sponsoring my conjugal partner can she include her dependent child? I tried looking in the regulations and under the definition of family member in s.1(3)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations it includes "(b) a dependent child of the person or of the person’s spouse or common-law partner".... doesn't include "conjugal partner".

Thanks,

David

Yes, the dependents of your 'conjugal' partner need to be included in the application. For your purposes, conjugal can translate to "common law" as this conjugal partner, if/when granted a PR visa will show as your 'spouse'.

Interesting that you are choosing to apply as "conjugal", given how hard it is...

Maybe she is Filipina ... I guess I just assumed that she likely is, since that is a common theme on these boards ...

Im still confused with a similar issue.

Can this dependent child (who is of the conjugal applicant, not the sponsor) come to Canada right away - as part of the same application - if their parent is accepted?
