Good advice. I'm going to try my best to not think about it for the next few hours. I've lost all faith in every delivery service now. We sent a present to my partner's parents last year using Royal Mail and it took just under two months to arrive. One of our friends sent us some candy from Canada using UPS and that got lost.
If I could, I would fly there and hand it in myself! :(

nah, the candy didn't get lost! somebody ate it ;)

mail and CIC r like lottery; u try and see what happens...that's why, it's better to never send originals, especially important ones!!...also make sure to keep the receipt from the mail company showing the date when u send the package or other correspondence with them...like this CIC should not argue that u sent them expired police certificates or who knows what

OMG i just can't belive it that mail services such as DHL or UPS can lost such mails. Well i posted mine through Xpresspost Canada on P.O box address and everything is fine. I wish you all the best and hope you get your file safe n sound back to your sponsor's parents.

Did everyone miss what PMM said?

Hi

Well yesterday was Sunday, it is a day of rest for the wicked.

Ahahahahahha

PMM, you're one funny dude!

Thanks Baloo. I hope they do try again.
For some reason they said the address was incomplete and they needed more info. I reconfirmed the address with them and they say that it is exactly what they have. I just hope they try again later today and it works this time.
I'm not sure if I can handle much more of this anxiety. By the time we get the visa I'll be a nervous mess!

Sounds like normal a process to me.
Things will get worse before getting better.

We understand :)

I hate to say this but this is just the beginning! I am 4 months and a few days into this whole process and the waiting is killing me at the moment! If our passport request doesn't come soon I will go completely mad!! :'(

It will be resolved. Think positively!!!

Jen85: I am pretty sure you will make it. I have made it almost 8 months and have another month or so to go.

OliverP: Don't let this get your spirits down. Use this to think this will hopefully be the ONLY thing that goes wrong with the application process. If that is the case, then you are in good running. Have faith and everything will come together. :D

So what happened Ollie? Did DHL get their act together and deliver your package to the right place?

Hi
Unfortunately not. I re-confirmed the address and exactly the same thing has happened. I spoke to someone yesterday evening about changing the address to my partner's parent's and they are going to call me this morning. I'm not very hopeful though. I have a feeling something has gone wrong and they might have lost the package. I am paranoid though!
Thanks for checking
Ollie

OMG What a nightmare! I really don't understand how DHL have messed up so badly! I hope you can get it delivered to your partners parents. At least they could find a courier that knows what they are doing that can deliver it. Try not to worry about it getting lost. Let us know what happens and as someone else said earlier, this may be the little hiccup you have to get through and you may find the rest of the process is smooth sailing! Good luck!

Thanks! I really hope we can get the parcel somewhere safe. Ashley's parents live about 2 hours from Mississauga so if they do receive it, I think I will get them to send it standard post to the PO Box address instead.
I'll let you know how we get on.

Thanks again
Ollie

well DHL really sucks eh?! mid-feb I sent my application through DHL and they told me they would deliver my documents to my husband in edmonton in 4 days, its been a week and my hubby still didn't have it so i called them and they told me they don't know what their shipping partner is in canada. we were so pissed! but we're still lucky because my husband was able to find it and pick it up instead. i'll never rely on DHL again.. if they lost my original documents i will never forgive them.. >:(

Same here. If they lose these documents we'll be in real trouble.

I'm past the point of being angry now. I am just very worried and upset.

And to top it off, it's started to rain here too!

aaah it's ok...things will get solved just keep bugging them!! by the way, try to talk with some supervisor, maybe they can help u more; also, each time u talk remember the person's name and also maybe they will give u some complaint id or some proof that u called; otherwise, at each call it could look it's the 1st time and u never called before
if u have some contact-us email send complaint email...something written is better than a phone conversation

rain is good, freezing rain is worse...u'll see ;)
