I can't believe it! We sent our application from England on Friday morning and it was out for delivery in Mississauga yesterday afternoon. I've just checked the tracking and it says "Delivery refused". I've double checked the address and I'm using the right one for couriers.
I'm going to call DHL at 9.00 and see if I can get them to attempt the delivery again. I'm already anxious beyond belief about the application and now this! I just hope they don't lose it

Well yesterday was Sunday, it is a day of rest for the wicked.
It's Tuesday here in England. The courier tried to deliver the package at 4.25pm on Monday afternoon
Hi OliverP
Oh no, you must be in a panic over that. Did you use the box number address or the address for couriers?

I cannot see the delivery being flat out refused. Hope you are able to sort it out this morning.
Hi
Yep, I used the courier address. I have just double checked the postage receipt. I'm going to give them a call in a minute and ask if they can try again today. If not, I'm hoping they can redirect it to my partner's parent's house in Ontario.
I really don't want to get the whole thing returned to England. I'm so worried it will get lost!
Thanks
Ollie
I know what you mean. After you put that much effort into the application, you definitely don't want it lost. I am sure the courier will try again. I wonder if the courier actually showed up later than 4.25pm and the office was closed? Good luck and let us know how it all turns out.
Thank you. I really hope so too. I'll report back after I have spoken to DHL.

Nooooo.. DHL

I really really hope it will be delivered without problems, but try not to use DHL anymore. They managed to lose my original police clearance ;(
Out of all papers that my mother sent me on that envelope, it just HAD to be the police clearance..
Oh no. That doesn't sound good. Fingers crossed!
I just spoke to DHL and they said the DHL office in Toronto doesn't recognise the address I have given and they need a phone number. The only number I have is the fax number.
I've reconfirmed the address with them and they said they will call again later.
I think I might get it redirected and sent to my partner's parent's house instead - before they lose it.
What a bad start to the application.
I used the fax number as the phone number as I didn't know any other number to put down. How can they possibly not recognise the address??? They must have a revolving door with couriers dropping off applications all the time. Definitely not a good start for you but hang in there. Maybe DHL will figure it out!!
I'm just hoping I don't go mad before it's all resolved!
I hate to say this but this is just the beginning! I am 4 months and a few days into this whole process and the waiting is killing me at the moment! If our passport request doesn't come soon I will go completely mad!! :'(
It will be resolved. Think positively!!!
Thanks. And good luck with yours. I hope you hear something positive soon.
Ollie
i had bad experience with DHL too!!!

it's good to know, so i won't send our appl through them...but who refused it actually? DHL or CIC? or noone knows
keep us updated, don't worry abt the bad start...maybe everything else will go fast
some people in some embassies could get an answer in 1-2 years, after 4 months maybe noone even opened their file; my best advice is to try if possible to get on with ur life and don't think too much about it...do other stuff, don't check ur status every few hours, just maybe once a week

and if u do think abt it, think in a productive way: gather more proof abt ur relationship (in case of an interview), visit each other, take trips together (that's a good way to forget a little), prepare gifts for each other, anything which makes u feel better
