I got enrolled in Masters program for June, 2018 (1 year) intake and applied for student visa in March. I got my visa approved last week (in August, 2018). I informed the university about my approval but they deferred my admission to next year i.e. for June, 2019 because they do not have any semester system plus I cannot find any other university with admissions open for Sept or January intake.
I have student visa for one year i.e. expiration date of August, 2019.
Now, I'm confused that whether I should re-apply (i.e. start a new student application) or next year before expiration (my classes starts from 25th June, 2019) I enter into Canada with my current student visa and apply for extension from there.
I'm worried that whether I should inform CIC through email about my deferral or not.
What is the suitable option legally / ethically from above two and should I write an email or not.

If you try to enter with same visa before expiry next year, the Immigration officer at the port of entry may decline you depending on length/duration of your new program....
My opinion is, get a deferral letter and reapply visa with explanation.
