Need to know that i am a master degree holder in geology and i done my assessment of my educational documents from IQAS Alberta and they equalize my degree with master degree in same subject with that of canada. Will i be given marks for master degree as my number of years of study is 16. But my assesment done shows my degree is equal to master of geology in canada.
My wife is having a bachelor of arts with 14 years of study will she b given marks for 14 years of study?
Do we need to write the english proficiency level on the forms according to the marks obtained in IELTS?
Any comments please.
Regards

Don't worry about whether it is equivalent to Canada's degree or not. As long as it is an accredited masters degree in your country AND you have 17 years of education, then you get 25 points. Since you have 16 years of education, you move down the table to the next level to get 22 points. That is if you are the main applicant for FSW.

If your wife is the main applicant, then she gets 20 points as long as the BA is a 2 years or longer degree.

If either of you are the accompanying partner, then its 4 points.

You can put in some points (whatever takes you to 67 or more) before you do the IELTS. There have been members on this forum who did not get the required points within the 120 days time frame and I have read that CIC does not give extension on the 120 days. Doing it before submitting to Sydney is good because you know exactly what you got. Lets see what others say.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, so if i consider my 16 year degree than my total points come upto 69. Is it oK..? Do i need to repeat the IELTS.?My work experience is in oil and gas with 13 years and working for mulitinational company all the time.

I presume you have taken the IELTS before since you asked if you need to repeat the IELTS.
If you have 69 points and you have general IELTS which is not older than a year then no need to repeat it.

Hi bluepine,

Could you please inform us your latest updates.
