Defer admission after getting study permit?

Hi,

I came to Canada on dependent open work permit, after that, to study in Canada I have applied for study permit few months back and I have got my study permit on June 1st 2017 based on letter of acceptance issued for May 2017 Intake, since I have got my study permit after college was started, they have deferred my admission to September.

NOTE: I AM CURRENTLY IN CANADA.

Now, can I stay in Canada legally until September? OR Do I need to apply for visiting visa until then?

I also have visa last year and I did not go but I did not travel to Canada either. My visa is still valid and I wanted to travel to Canada this September to start the program

I’m in Canada. Due to some unfortunate reasons, my admit got deferred to the next intake (that is in 3 months).
