I understand your frustration. I understand that you CEC applicants have contributed to the Canadian economy. I understand that you pay your taxes. This might sound blunt but I'm gonna just say it - Immigration is a privilege and not a right. This applies to anyone who is applying for immigration irrespective of whether he has worked/studied in that country or not.

True, it's a privilege but do you need to take advantage of people because they are at your mercy even after contributing into the system without being a burden on the government or criminal record? Think of all that could go wrong should one run out of status before they complete the process. Hardly will your employer keep your job for you, your Landlord won't say hey buddy u out of job , dont worry about rent, school won't say you can leave your kid in school or leave the country, tickets aren't cheap.
this is more than frustration i don't pray this happen to my worse enemy. Lets call a spade a spade.

Well when anyone takes Student visa, he is only promised of 2 years work permit and they keep their promise. They never promised student visa will be converted into PR later on. This WP is given to recover the expenses of high tuition fees and expenses incurred. So the Student process cycle ends here. It was pre decided you have to leave the country after 3 years and you accepted it. I also came back from U.K after my 2 years WP expired. In fact all CEC should be thankful to the new Govt that they want to give you preference, and they are trying to do their best.( they are facing lot of controversies after declaring they will give pref. to CEC and they are not able to implement it so easily) They will come out with special plans and privileges in future for the CEC. But til then CEC and FSW have same status.
It is not so easy to convert Student visa into PR because student visa is given in one month. They day they promise it will be converted into PR the next month lakhs of people will land as students. Which will create an havoc.
So if you get PR before your WP expire consider yourself lucky but dont curse them if it does not happen.

Their systems were being upgraded during the year, that among with other factors lead to so many delays... But you have to remember this is immigration process, not visit visa or transit visa process... it will always, always take time...
CEC applicants with expiring work permits were being given preference anyway, why so much anger from the CEC guys suddenly? didnt understand that...
I firmly believe a lot of the nominations will be cleared this year itself, and whoever thinks that the scores are going to drop to 350 or 400 is dreaming, the lowest score so far is 451, and i doubt it will ever, ever fall below that.
@thestunner316, absolutely right.
adding to this, the Govt will never give 600 points or any special benefits to CEC because that will be the cheapest deal for everyone. Take a student visa land in Canada in 20 days and PR is yours. Just the cost of one year tuition fees and you are PR !!! so that is even a big dream like CRS dropping to 450 again.
CRS might drop in future but CEC getting PR will never happen.

Anyone applying for FBI PCC ?? Would this be the right time to request the PCC considering they take a min of 2 months to get back and the validity is 6 months.
I just noticed that most Dec applicants are CEC not FSW

If FBI PCC is obtained AFTER you have left US, then it remains valid forever (provided you do not re-visit US).
If you are in US or re-enter US after obtaining it, then PCC is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
FBI PCC would take at least 3-4 months to come considering current processing time of 12-14 weeks. (refer https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks )
