Hey everyone,
I got my citizenship test email from the Calgary office and took the test on March 25 (the window was Mar 21–Apr 14), but still no update on test approval as of today (Apr 16).
My friend took it a week before me—same situation, no news. Any idea why it’s taking almost a month?
Thanks
I had a similar problem and wrote to the e-mail that sent me the test invite. You may ask for updates on your results, by providing your UCI and Application Number and date you took the test. They can at least let you know if your results have been confirmed. The Vancouver office replied to me relatively quickly (a few hours later).
Helpdesk rep at Service Ontario center said “one has to update their change in citizenship or immigration status within 30 days”. Ill go there in a few days and let you all know about it. If I forget please holla!
So... I went to service ontario.. The agent said "Ignore the policy and the form listing: you have to let us know within 30 days of your change in citizenship".. She saw the "Wat!" expression on my face and updated my citizenship status.
I don't know what to say. I would still update it to be on the safer side. But upto y'all!

But the question I'd ask: "or what? what difference does it make?"
The truth is (my guess): they have a policy that says one must update them, and that policy is intended to catch ANY case where a recipient of services (eg healthcare) loses eligibility. You definitely DO have to advise them if you lose your PR status (because it's revoked) and do not obtain any other status that entitles you to coverage.
But when you lose PR status and become a citizen*: you're still entitled. There's no issue. You can't be accused of fraud.
So sure, you should advise them you became a citizen. But it's not such a big deal.
*Yes, when you become a citizen, you lose your PR status. Most of us would not think of that as a bad thing, but it's still what happens.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my timeline and check in with fellow December AOR folks — especially those with similar test or background verification timelines. Curious how things are moving for others.
️ AOR: December 6, 2024 Test Window: Feb 7–Mar 8, 2025 Test Completed: March 9 Language & Physical Presence: March 16 Background & Prohibitions: Still In Progress (as of April 14 – Day 129 from AOR) Travel History: Spent time abroad during the eligibility period
Do you think it's taking far longer than usual? Is there anyone else also in similar situation as me?
I think things are slowing down due to the upcoming elections. Just speculating. Still staying hopeful, and finding reasons why the app is moving too slow.
